We all want to win
Success has always been the goal, but it has not always been understood in the same way. What used to be considered success in the past century or a few decades ago can now just represent a vague and outdated longing, while new aspirations take the place of the old ones. There is only one thing that remains constant, and that is the desire for success, the need to win, the need to be accepted and respected by others.
It is clear that recently success has been limited to social prestige and economic power, which can lead to other forms of power that enhance prestige in their own way. It is not surprising, therefore, that young people primarily direct their aspirations towards these formulas of success if they want to integrate into the society in which they live and if they do not want to be part of a long list of “marginalized” individuals. Today, the future is seen from this perspective: choosing a profession must be accompanied by a series of necessary questions about its practicality in terms of the possibility of gaining power and wealth. The number of programs aimed at achieving this goal is increasing. People pursue education for the possibility of quick and great success, for a social status that is considered solid and lasting. However, not everything that shines is gold.
If these were truly formulas for success in life, there would be a lot more happy people than there are. At the very least, we must accept the fact that success is one thing, and happiness is something else.
Shouldn’t we perhaps build other forms of success that, although they do not align with accepted forms, can become far more real?
One of the things that preoccupy us the most is the inadequacy of what we achieve, the transience of what we believe to be permanent, and the unsustainability of what we assumed to be indestructible.
As for success, the following applies: we need success that, no matter how small, will not immediately disappear, that provides us with at least a little satisfaction and peace. Difficulties should be regarded as challenges for our intelligence and willpower. And in the worst case scenario, we should turn failures into opportunities for a fresh start.
We need to know how to seize opportunities. Life is full of opportunities, but we won’t see them if we walk with our eyes closed. If we are preoccupied with our own conflicts and constantly think about them, we will lose energy and won’t be able to break free from this vicious circle, not noticing the thousands of doors that this imaginary labyrinth offers us.
We need to constantly strive to love, because that is the best way to understand others. We need to joyfully and generously help others, because that is the best way to be content with ourselves.
We need to search for the meaning of life and try to find meaning in our own lives. Nothing happens by chance…
We need to constantly improve everything we do, enhance everything that surrounds us. Bring beauty into every corner and bring light everywhere, from the outside and within. from within, wherever we may be.
The one who succeeds in applying these few keys will become a content person, a confident person. The one who achieves this is a true winner. And even though no one will admit it because fashion does not allow it, everyone would be happy to achieve such success.
Success: continuous work
Every success is the result of many small battles from which we sometimes emerge as winners, and sometimes as losers. However, in the tireless growth and improvement of everything that exists around us, there are no final defeats, nor wasted energy.
Self-confidence
Every time we succeed in overcoming, even if they are small victories, we build a powerful foundation that difficulties cannot easily shake. Regardless of the multitude of problems we will face, we will always have the memory of our achievements, the security of what we have done well. “Once I could” becomes the driver for “I can do it every time”.
We must not confuse this intimate security Believe in yourself, which has been patiently built up, with self-satisfaction. Self-satisfaction is just a shadow that cannot be compared to authentic self-assurance, the one that comes from self-awareness, the development of virtues, the exercise of our own abilities, constant trial and error, and their correction, dispelling darkness by bringing clarity to all things.
Success and victory
We would prefer for success to come on its own, without any risk for us.
We see it as the destiny’s obligation towards us, and we fail to understand that we are the ones who are obliged: because we don’t know how to see or seize opportunities… We must remember that success is the positive result of anything we set as a task for ourselves.
Thus, success is not possible if it doesn’t exist beforehand:
Success is an objective fact.
Victory is the intimate joy that arises from success when we have put all our efforts into it.
Ordinary success can satisfy vanity. The feeling of victory enriches the soul. Einberg Guzmán
