Interview with Delija Steinberg Guzmán
Ms. Guzmán summed up this task with the following words:
And those who have more experience, thanks to the years, pass on that experience to those who are younger and in need of it. In other words, we can transmit a way of life.
If you look back, what are you most proud of? Or rather, what do you think the initial expectations were met with?
I feel proud of those things that people say are impossible and that we are able to show that there is nothing impossible where there is strong will, a strong desire to move things forward, and intelligence that develops day by day. Then anything is possible. I feel proud of the past, of those ideas that have flourished for centuries, the same ones that have awakened so many exceptional individuals, driven history, and changed social standards. I feel proud of those ideas that continue to be the same even in today’s language and help us change. I’m not talking about radical social changes, not even about achieving our principle of fraternity; what I mean is that we are We have initiated many things and there are thousands of people who have gained something, even a seed, an idea, something that has changed their lives, that has helped them think in a different way, approach difficulties differently. Because of all that, I feel proud.
What perspective do you see for the action of New Acropolis in the world today?
I truly enjoy working day by day. Talking about one month or two months, for me, that is already a long period. But of course, there are different ways to approach life, I don’t think we all have to do things in the same way.
I see the same prospects that I find in history. In other words, there are times when certain ideas flourish and leave significant traces in people’s lives; and there are times when the sky darkens and it seems as if those ideas have vanished, as if they no longer exist and no one will ever be able to understand or convey them. But those times are just passing clouds. I believe that the same periods of the blossoming of great philosophical ideas can be experienced again, because human nature and the need for wisdom remain constant. reappear in the future. There may be a pause, a rest, an apparent halt. However, I believe that the seeds of eternal ideas are also eternal.
I look at the future as I do the present: stable, constant, capable of being recreated minute by minute.
Is our world ready to receive these ideas?
No. The world isn’t, but there are many people who are ready. Our efforts are directed towards humanity, not the world as a whole, because the world is an abstraction. We need to be patient and dedicate ourselves to what the ancient sages so strongly advocated, and that is holistic education. It is an education that relates to the individual, awakening the best within them.
