What makes an adventure an adventure?

The world is waiting, it’s summer, let’s embark on an adventure!

In those moments, we can’t wait to finally step out of our usual environment, preferably for a longer period of time or at least for an extended weekend or two… But why do we want to get away from home, even if only briefly? What is it that we miss at home, and hope to find somewhere else?

The best thing about traveling is that we can break free from our usual routine, leave behind the mundane, repetitive thoughts, and escape from exhausting and monotonous situations, while fresh experiences await us. However, sometimes we discover that we don’t even have to leave our home; we can relax and unwind just by doing something differently. We can dedicate ourselves to reading, cooking, or any other “relaxing” activity. It will be different for everyone, but the key is to do something that deviates from our daily norm. This is not surprising when considering that human beings are complex creatures, and their body, soul, and spirit develop through various experiences. ies and vice versa. It is in the summer that we can take a break from our numerous activities, experiences, and constant external stimuli. By stepping out of the external whirlwind, our internal movement begins in an interesting way. If the external world – even if just for a moment – falls silent, we can catch our breath. Even if we do nothing, we contemplate ourselves, others, and the world around us. In this seemingly inactive but internally awakened state of contemplation, we can catch a glimpse of who we are, what we like about ourselves, and what we don’t. We can reflect on what we have said or done and whether it was good or if we could have done better. We can revive what we once dreamed of for ourselves and the world…

If we manage to “return” refreshed, we will be able to look at our life, obligations, actions, and relationships differently. And perhaps with new strength and a fresh perspective, we will see possibilities for renewal, big or small. Our inner activity affects our outer activity. Indeed, those two together truly make an adventure an adventure!
