Star Wars – From Hope to Awakening…

George Lucas

Dreams are extremely important; nothing can be accomplished without first envisioning it.
George Lucas

This is what Goethe said in Faust, and what Lucas knew how to express in modern language: the message that technology will not save us. Our computers, our tools, our machines are not enough. We need to rely on our intuition, our true essence…
Joseph Campbell

Once upon a time in a very distant galaxy… there is something that we see every day around us. And many well-known, content-identical situations, only with a different appearance, have marked the history of our planet. The same often characterizes our own life – trials at or beyond the limit of our strength, defeats and victories, painful betrayals and unexpected help, neglecting lessons and embracing teachings…

Every myth, including this one, has hidden real answers written in symbolic language, pointing the way to overcoming obstacles. This cannot be done without sacrifice and devotion, it cannot be done without collaboration with teachers and fri Intentions, without our readiness to venture into the unknown and confront our own weaknesses multiple times.
Joseph Campbell
The outer space is within us to the extent that the laws governing it are within us; inner and outer space are one and the same.
Joseph Campbell
Now, under the fresh impression of the latest, seventh episode of Star Wars – The Force Awakens, we will only focus on some important characters, situations, and symbols.
Luke Skywalker – The Sky Walker
In this central character of the first trilogy (IV-VI episodes), we see the archetypal journey of the hero’s awakening, the new hope of the Jedi knight order, the heart of defense against the Empire’s attacks that spread evil and fear throughout the galaxy. Thanks to the teachings of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda, Luke gradually becomes aware of his own potentials as well as his shortcomings. He receives the lightsaber (a symbol of will), learns to collaborate with the light side of the Force, and realizes that he will have to walk many paths of the Path of Goodness alone. The dark side of the Force constantly tempts him. It is his impatience and uncontrollable emotions that drive him. That is why his teachers constantly accompany him and help him to arm himself with inner strength and to finally confirm himself as a true Jedi. Yoda teaches Skywalker: We are beings of light, not raw matter. The light of stars resides within us.

Princess Leia

Luke’s twin, his female counterpart in strength, fearlessness, resourcefulness, but as a princess, she has another mission. Dressed in white, she symbolizes the soul that needs to be liberated and the purity of all good beings worth fighting for.

Anakin, Darth Vader

Embodies the process of succumbing to one’s own weaknesses, hatred, and blindness that gradually slip out of control and turn against ourselves. Anakin had already nearly joined the circle of Jedi, the knights of light and goodness, when he began succumbing to temptations seduced by the dark side of the Force, ignited by his repressed passions, fears, and doubts. Thus, he becomes the dark Darth Vader. However, even then, there is hope. , and that last glimmer of good that remained in him recognizes his son, Luke Skywalker. Thanks to this, the suppressed love between father and son starts to awaken again. For Vader, this became a possible path of redemption achieved through opposing the terrifying Sith Lord, the ultimate evil, in order to save his son, and ultimately sacrificing himself and dying in the process. In doing so, he once again enters the realm of true Jedi.

The Cave

The central event of Episode V is undoubtedly Luke’s entrance into the cave, a place of confrontation and the beginning of true transformation. When Luke asks what he will find there, Yoda responds, “Only what you take with you.” Yoda advises him to leave behind his lightsaber and to conquer his fear, but Luke doesn’t listen and is overcome by fear when he encounters Darth Vader, whom he kills. Shocked, he realizes that by giving in to rage and blindness, he has also killed his true self. Although he didn’t pass this great test because he wasn’t adequately prepared from within, this experience ultimately shapes his path, in which he will strive to find redemption and become a true Jedi. Fight like a true noble warrior…
Force
The Force is the energy that flows through the cosmos, allowing everything to live, grow, and progress. It is therefore necessary to collaborate with it in order to use it for what is good within us and in everything around us. Otherwise, when used for selfish purposes, it becomes a destructive force that distorts and destroys, ultimately turning against ourselves.
The Force is what gives us strength, it is an energetic field created by everything that lives. It surrounds us, permeates us, and maintains the unity of the galaxy.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
To bring oneself into harmony with the Force, and thus have all its protection and power, was the ideal of the Jedi. This is immortalized in their greeting – “May the Force be with you!” – which has become one of the most famous lines in film…
From the code of the Jedi:
There is no emotion,
there is Peace.
There is no ignorance,
there is Knowledge.
There is no passion,
there is Serenity.
There is no chaos,
there is Harmony.
There is no death,
there is There is power.
