Today I saw a star…

Today I saw a star… I saw it through other stars that God placed in humans: I saw it with my own eyes. And so, an unusual attraction and the same desire for light were created between my eyes and the star in the sky.

Suddenly, all the numerous knowledge about the suns shining on the celestial vault vanished from my mind; about the light-years of distance between one star and another; about the unimaginable matter that makes up these vast worlds, and the star I saw gained a new dimension of Beauty. Its message was no longer a simple mathematical truth about its existence in the boundless universe.

I remembered that since ancient times, stars have been connected to the destinies of people and their most important events. I understood why people sought the outcome of their lives in the stars. Some stars open up to life with renewed brilliance; others darken and slowly fade away. Pleasure and pain, happiness and sadness… the eternal wheel of life is reflected in the stars.

The truth is, I… When I caught sight of my star, I tried with all my heart to see it shine brighter than any other, praying that its radiance would illuminate victorious moments. But it is also true that, despite everything, the star occasionally lost its shine; it seemed that, contrary to my inner feeling, it could extinguish at any moment.

What is a dying star? A cycle coming to an end, completing its own life? Is it perhaps bad that a star fades away? Is it bad that what has lived slowly dissolves in space, leaving behind luminous traces? If the star has lived, if it has gathered glorious moments in its light mirror, if it has fulfilled its destiny, the end is a dignified ornament of a no less dignified existence. In the death of a star, in the dark void it leaves behind, hides a mystery deeper than life itself.

What is a star being born? It is a streak of light breaking through the cosmos. It is an ancient being that, under a new light, begins its destiny anew. visible to the naked eye. She has a new mission to accomplish and new people to encourage on the path of life, which is, after all, the same life for stars and humans.

A close bond is being created right here: the star of destiny shines, the eyes that see it shine, and a magical promise emerges. As long as the star lasts, the oath will last: as long as there is light, there will be strength; as long as it pulses in the sky, there will be life in the heart; as it traverses the stellar paths, we carve furrows on the earth.

And when it ends, when its light hides behind the cloak of Silence, our eyes, accustomed to following it, will close simultaneously to search for it through unfathomable worlds, and to return in search of new ideals as unchanging guideposts.

Today, I saw a star… Will I see it again?
